Felix Trattoria

Felix Trattoria

Biter Score9.3

Felix might be the closest to legit Italian I’ve had in LA. I got the Tagliatelle and the Cacio e Pepe and both were kind of perfect. The pasta has that fresh bite that makes you slow down a little, and the sauces feel simple but dialed in. The Cacio e Pepe is rich without being heavy, and the Tagliatelle is pure comfort. It actually feels like a pasta spot that respects the classics instead of trying too hard. I’d go back just to keep working through the menu. Only thing I’d wanna fix is that price tag 😅

Shawarma Guys in San Diego seriously delivered. I got the wagyu beef and chicken plate and both were insanely good. The beef is super tender and the chicken has actual flavor, not that dry, bland thing you get at some spots. Even the sides were fresh and worked with everything instead of feeling like filler. It’s one of those meals where you take a bite and just nod out of pure joy. I’d go back without thinking twice.

Ludi’s in Seattle delivered one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while. I got the Combo-silog and it just hits everything right the meat has real flavor, the garlic rice is perfect, and the egg ties it all together. It’s comforting, filling, and doesn’t feel overdone. Just straight up good Filipino breakfast made the way it should be.

Came here for the éphémère: légume menu, which was a five-night vegetarian tasting. Every dish felt intentional and none of it came off as a gimmick. The onion soup pancake and the ravioli course were standouts. The desserts were surprising too, especially the mushroom ice cream, which shouldn’t work but somehow does. Service was great and focused in a good way. It felt like one of those dinners that only happens once and doesn’t need to come back to be memorable. If Petit Trois ever does another one-off menu like this, it’s worth booking right away.
